We need our farmland to grow our crops and feed ourselves and our animals. Sheep, cattle and wild flowers to sustain insect life and pollination will not thrive under solar panels. Our country lanes are not fit for even our cars at the moment due to potholes and poor maintenence, never mind HGVs. It should have been considered years ago to fit solar panels on all new housing and what must be many hectares of roofing on factories and distribution centres. To make the excuse that they were not strong enough is a laughable excuse. I object most strongly to this proposal.
