Rosliston and surrounding area as been promoted extensively for over the last 25 years as being a key part of the new National Forest and sits centrally within the heart of this still developing mass area of forestation. The implementation of this scheme will put an instant stop to the forests continuation, as the solar panel installation takes the place of future planting schemes along with the the loss of excellent quality arable land, which only 25 years ago was being developed further for that purpose by the current land owner. Who, at that time was embarking on hedge and two to three hundred year old tree removal inorder to greater improve arable capacity and crop productivity. During these fertile years wildlife throughout this area has thrived sitting along side eco tourism, bringing education, physical exercise and mental wellbeing to the fore and putting Rosliston Forestry Centre firmly on the map for all to enjoy and for our village, and surrounding ones, to be very proud of. It seems to me that with all of the above being considered and an A38 industrial corridor right on our door step that a considerable amount of the panels allocated for our very green and pleasant land could have been layed to better use on the huge and numerous portal frame warehouses within that setting. Warehouses with a life span not dissimilar to that of these solar panels. Leading, in the future, to one mass disposal operation for all and minimum distruption to an already established industrial site. And in an area better suited to heavy and sustained traffic during that process. The latter point being one that would create serious concerns during local installation and subsequent maintenance periods.
