My concerns are : • The loss of best and most valuable farmland, particularly at a time when food costs are rising and supplies from overseas are being impacted by climate change and conflict. • Travel disruption during construction. The narrow, poorly maintained rural lanes are already 'rat runs' between A38, A444 and A42 with large numbers of HGV and other vehicles passing through villages. Increased HGV traffic during construction will have a serious impact on the residents' living on these routes. • Harm to wildlife. • Destruction of the hedgerows and stream through the site. • Industrialising the rural landscape. • The noise levels during construction and once the site is fully operations will have a detrimental impact on the locality. • It is anticipated many properties in my village with be impacted by glint and glare from the site. This is also a potential hazard for road users. • Risk of rainwater run off causing more flooding on local roads. In recent years roads and properties in the locality have been subjected to many incidents of flooding. A development of such a large scale cannot help but have a detrimental impact on then local environment. • Reduction of amenity impacting local economy. Quite apart from the loss of agricultural land and associated loss of employment, this rural site sits alongside the National Forest. Tourism in the area will be affected. Visitors are attracted to the open, beautiful countryside. Who would want to holiday/visit such a large scale industrial site ? • Unsightly nature of security fencing and CCTV across the site. • Risk of environmental contamination. This proposal is completely inappropriate for the location. Once lost to industrialisation it will never return to its agricultural use and the impact on loss of food production cannot be overstated.
