By building on quality agricultural land, national and local government and industry will continue to destroy our natural resources. Food as well as energy security will be vital to the local and national economy in future years. Our flora and fauna have suffered enough, this project reinforces people’s belief that the government is not serious about its own Environment Act which states “ Through the Act, we will clean up the country’s air, restore natural habitats, increase biodiversity, reduce waste and make better use of our resources.” I am full supportive of solar panels but not at the expense of the nature or food production. Solar farms in other countries are incorporated into building and other infrastructures and / or on land where food crops can continue to be grown. This is not the case here, this project is very short sighted and very disappointing.
