This proposal would have a devastating effect on local communities and wildlife at the expense of productive arable land. The density and extent of the proposal would unavoidably have a negative impact on the visual appeal of the natural beauty of the valley, The use of greenfield sites before other existing possibilities have been used is contrary to ethical development and long term sustainability. Panels on industrial estate roofs, supermarkets, warehouses, and canopies over car parks would have better accessability and have other advantages (lowering temperatures and reducing the need for air con) than just producing electricity. As for the developers claims that they will minimise impact on the local ecosystem is greenwashing. Alternate strips of shadow and light, rain shadows interspersed with channelled runoff as the most obvious effects can be identified by schoolchildren. This is an insensitive development which is in appropriate for any rural area.
