The construction of Mallard Pass is considered to be a poor use of resource: Loss of valuable agricultural land: Agricultural land should be used to produce food, thus potentially reducing the need for imports and thus reducing carbon footprint. Installation of Photovoltaic panels on agricultural and warehousing structures: A requirement to install Photovoltaic panels on agricultural and warehousing structures at construction stage as a requirement of any Planning Permission may require National and Local Government policy and legislation but would provide, nationally, a significant generation potential that would be aesthetically preferable to the loss of green space.
