This will have a significant impact on the future use of high grade arable and grazing land, by removing it from use. Also, the resultant impact on wildlife is very much a concern. Other than during construction, the net positive employment is very very low for such a large scale investment. Finally despite the impact on local people, there is no net benefit to the community that a large infrastructure project such as this, should realise. A similar highways, housing project would result in greater benefits for the communities impacted. There are many, many other reasons why I feel this is an I’ll thought out project, such as lack of UK investment as it’s an oversees company, and no consideration for other clean energy options.
