Windel Energy who is a partner in this endeavour is headed by a man who has been bankrupted several times leaving behind huge debts. He does not inspire confidence in any way. It is acknowledged that solar panels provide only a tiny fraction of energy required to serve the country. They do not work if there is no sun. The land that the solar farm is designated to be built on is acknowledged viable farmland. This is unacceptable and should not be used as was stated in the Government’s own guidelines. The infrastructure will decimate this land and cannot be recycled. There are examples of ‘dead’ wind turbines being buried as they, too, cannot be recycled. How can this possibly be environmentally friendly. The solar panels come from the area of China where Yuigar people are being persecuted by the Chinese Government. How is that acceptable? We now learn that some properties on the perimeter of the area designated for the solar farm could be compulsorily purchased. This is outrageous. The property owners have opposed the solar farm and have been given no choice in the matter.
