I’m registering to raise the following objections to the Mallard Pass project: Operational Issues - The scale of the operation, with a total site of 2105 acres, means it will have an unprecedented negative visual impact on the local community, - When operational the schemes production of solar energy will have no direct benefit to the local community or surrounding area as it will go into the national grid, - Attractive farmland will become an industry-scape with 530,000 solar panels 3.3 m high, accompanied by CCTV, high fencing and the supporting infrastructure required, - Fencing will exclude large wild mammals, impacting their distribution in the landscape, - Over 2,000 acres of productive farmland will be taken offline reducing food security for the country and local community, - Visual amenity of Public Rights of Way will be significantly degraded which can not be mitigated by the addition of new permissive paths Construction Issues - Noise, light disturbance for 2 years, 6 days a week and 12 hours a day, - Local transportation disruption for 2 years spread over 7 construction compounds, - Public Rights of Way suspended or diverted, - No funded plan for decommissioning at the end of the sites lifecycle.
