We are against the Mallard Pass Solar Farm for the following reasons: * the negative impact on wildlife and nature * the waste of excellent agricultural land which should be used to grow food for the country to ensure sustainability for our future * the loss of our wonderful nature walks and beautiful scenery, needed for our long term wellbeing * the impact on the local community during the construction phase will cause long term disruption, noise and pollution * the human rights infringement whereby homeowners/businesses may lose temporary or permanently their property rights due to the compulsory acquisition * the fact that solar power is a lot less effective in harnessing energy than the use of off-shore wind turbines It seems non-sensical to allow this project to go ahead causing so much disruption and loss of our prized landscape with very little result at the end. It appears the only winners in all of this will be the shareholders of those involved in this project.
