My main concern is the appearance and detrimental effects it will have in and around the village of Essendine including my village. Why on earth are we putting these panels all over beautiful productive green farmland. In addition to that there is a huge amount of wildlife in this area from herds of dear, badger sets, ground feeding birds, hares and other small mammals to name but a few. In addition to the animals just mentioned there had been reports of otters in the local Glen river and the steady growth in numbers of the Red Kites in the local area. Other issues are related to the questionable production, shipping installation and recycling of these panels and the possible chemical risks due to leaks and fires. There are other sites in the area that could be more suited to these solar panels, such as used and disused RAF airfields / bases. To locate these solar panels there means they won’t be as unsightly but still does not take away the risks and effects on wildlife.
