Whilst wholeheartedly in favour of solar power as a source of “clean energy “, I believe that the location, size and dominance of the proposed siting is inappropriate. Brown field sites should be selected, of which there are hundreds across the country on former armed forces sites and industrial locations. The Mallard Pass proposal covers arable land in a beautiful rural location, thus depriving the region of food production and outdoor exercise space for visitors and residents alike, whilst instead creating an enormous all-encompassing industrial landscape .
