This is planned to be one of the largest solar farms in Europe and will cover swathes of agricultural land. While we need alternative energy we also need to safeguard our ability to feed the nation. Large areas of agricultural land taken out of production for at least the next forty years will not help this situation. Are we in the position that we must swap the need for energy with the need for food? On a more local note, this 'farm' will affect the whole beauty of the area with one village (Essendine) almost surrounded by solar panels.....and these are not small and unobtrusive as they are 3.5 metres high and will be visible over most hedgerows. Wildlife will be affected despite the claim that 'pathways' will be affected. This area has a large population of deer, both Roe and Mountjack.
