The size and scale of the proposed development removes an unreasonable amount of productive farmland at a time when the UK should be ensuing food security is further up the political agenda. The size and scale of these types of developments should be situated on poorer agricultural land and not in this location. Surely a cluster type scheme would deliver better outcomes on poorer quality land so as to reduce the massing and enormous visual impact this scheme will undoubtedly create. I do not believe the scheme as designed adequately addresses biodiversity net gain issues that a development of this scale creates. How are these to be addressed over the entire life cycle of the development (80 + years)?
