The devastation to the countryside and surrounding villages. Reduction in prime agricultural land. Home grown produce should be increasing not decreasing in order to reduce the cost and burden on importing goods. Where produce can be grown locally surely this should be encouraged. There are identified brown field sites which could be used in place of farmland. Roof space on industrial units would be more appropriate and much less intrusive. The affect on the populations well-being and mental health. Residents have chosen to live in a rural area, not one overtaken by solar panels purely for avaricious gain. The scale of the application on the villages it will affect. The increase of traffic during construction and the disruption to day to day life. Loss of natural habitat for wildlife. Whilst solar may be considered greener energy, disposal of the panels and batteries after use would not be environmentally friendly so potentially would have a negative impact. Other options of providing green energy should be sought.
