Why!!!! Common sense needs to prevail. Prime agriculture land being thrown away when we need all the growth we can get from these fields. For at least the next 40 years, more than 2,000 acres will be lost. How long will it take after that time to get the land back into a prime productive condition. I will not see that happen, but for the rest of my years I will have to be walking through extensive large metal constructed panels, shipped from China to Canada and to the UK where they will be transported along our country lanes, which are not fit for purpose by large HGV's. How is this helping our carbon footprint. Yes, we need to do something to alleviate our problem with energy, but this is not the solution. Every commercial building needs to install some form of renewable energy, solar (do we have companies in the UK to provide these instead of shipping from around the world, if not why not?) or wind technology. Every new property built needs to at least provide renewable energy for hot water. As for the wildlife destruction, I'm afraid that in some instances, this will never return. Please think about how this will be in the future, old, out of date, or constantly being renewed, visually appalling, mentally challenging/disturbing. There are answers to our problems in his country but this solar farm is not the right one.
