The adverse impacts to biodiversity, the environment (including climate), local community and infrastructure associated with this proposal far out way any of the proposed benefits of bringing solar energy to the area. Whilst I am supportive of green energy initiatives, I set out below the reasons why I am strongly against this proposal: * Loss of prime agricultural land; * Damage to local biodiversity and loss of habitat for local wildlife. * Damage to local environment; * Potential increased risk of flooding; * Adverse impact to local infrastructure, in particular roads, footpaths and bridleways. * Adverse impact to road safety in the area for the period of construction, in particular around local community schools; * Massive scale of the project – industrialisation of the landscape; * Adverse impact to local climate caused by potential increase in temperature from the solar panels; * Decommissioning processes and environmental waste; * Relative inefficiency of solar panels as a source of generating renewable energy in the UK, and in this area; * Loss of archaeological material / sites in the area potentially of cultural significance; and * Association of the primary developer with unethical business practices - use of forced labour in the supply chains of [Redacted].
