I think the proposed development is just too large. This isn't nimbyism; I do not live in the immediate vicinity but I do not think any rural location in the country should have such a large development. I can imagine the mental wellbeing of people hemmed in by this sprawling development could be adversely affected. The benefits of access to countryside are well documented. I would also be very concerned about the impact on local wildlife, having such a large area of land swallowed up by this development. I do not think that any single location should have to host such an enormous solar farm. I completely understand the necessity for renewable electricity and I recognise there may be benefits from having larger facilities rather than lots of very small ones, but I just think this is too big. I have also heard that the company proposing this development has links to forced labour in China. If this is the case, I cannot see how this development could possibly be given the go-ahead with the involvement of such an organisation.
