I wish to register my comments on the proposed development of Mallard Pass Solar Farm with key issues and impacts in 4 areas: 1. Scale; the proposed size of the project will completely overwhelm the villages, landscape and local environment, completely changing the nature of the surrounding area. 2. Environmental; The local area has rich and diverse flora and fauna largely undisturbed over the centuries. Such a large development will impact nature and its wellbeing. Margins and wildlife corridors cannot compensate for the disturbance of such a large area. 3. Economic; Removing such a large acreage of productive farmland must have an impact on the UK's strategic food supply chain. The UK cannot be entirely self sufficient, but recent external factors; war, pandemic and climate change, have highlighted the importance of controlling more of our food supply. 4. Access; the area is not served by major trunk roads but largely poorly maintained rural B roads. The volume of heavy traffic during the construction stage will cause congestion, pollution and damage to the existing transport infrastructure.
