The Mallard Pass Solar Farm is a huge transformation of agricultural land to industrial land. This is unacceptable when, having left the European Union, the nature of the new food trading relationship is not yet visible in data. The EU has a history, since BREXIT, of making things difficult regarding trade so we should absolutely not abandon arable farmland, and definitely not be replacing it with an energy "solution" which can only (on average) deliver 11% of its stated capacity. In return for this massive blight on our countryside, the local residents will not even see a reduction in their energy bills. I, therefore, completely object to the utter desecration of our countryside, and corresponding drop in residential house values, just because there's a suitable sub-station at Ryhall. Spending relaxation time amongst 530,000 solar panels is NOT the same as enjoying the countryside, especially as there are plenty of other places that could be used which don't completely change people's lives. Placing solar panels in disused airfields is one, and mandating solar panels in industrial areas, shopping malls etc and the roofs of new-build houses would be far less intrusive, and just as productive.
