We have the following major concerns regarding the Mallard Pass Solar Farm Our address in Essendine comes within new plans that are included under the categories of interest section 44 of the 2008 planning act to seek forced acquisitions. There is a long area of land along Bourne Road that they could alter how they like and we have no idea what this would look like and the impact it would have in this area. I fail to see how they have the right to compulsory carry out any work when it has not been adequately addressed. Size of the development being 8 times bigger than the largest solar farm in the UK and the total lack of concern the impact of this will have on local residents living in the area. The Size of the site has increased by 23Ha to 906Ha to allow for road alterations so that large abnormal loads are able to gain access, creating greater environmental damage and disruption. Construction compounds and access points will affect our already congested local roads for 2 years if the timescale is achieved. Site has been selected for its easy access to the grid which does have extra capacity and could be further expanded. The battery storage has been omitted but could be added at a later date to achieve a net zero target. 41% loss of best most versatile agricultural land which should not be used and is a Government policy. The loss of this land makes no sense when we have to often rely on imports with the increasing food shortages we have. Loss of biodiversity, habitat, wildlife, hedges and plants. Fencing will affect the free roaming of animals. Change of character and visual appearance of the area for the next 40 years. It will take 15 years before many of the areas can be properly screened from the impact. Flooding risk caused by surface water run off from panels not properly considered, some areas would be impassable.
