The Mallard Pass solar farm should not be allowed to proceed for 2 fundamental reasons :- Firstly, if all large buildings ( supermarkets, sports halls, factories etc) had solar panels on their roofs, large open car parks had overhead gantries with solar panels, and all new buildings of any kind were mandated to be self-sufficient in energy provision, there would be no need to build solar farms on farmland. Secondly, on no account should usable farmland be taken for solar panels, we need to produce as much of our own food on our own farms as possible - the situation in Ukraine should have taught us this simple lesson.
