We are already losing farm land in the area to housing (without solar panels fitted), gravel quarrying and returning it to Fenland marsh, that's without covering it in solar farms. We are now seeing fresh food shortages in this country which is partly due to our over reliance on food imports, we need to become more food independent as a country and need farm land to achieve this. Solar panels should be fitted to the roofs of new builds and the planning inspectorate can by refusing this application send a strong signal to the Government that it needs fresh Legislation for builders. Canadian Solar is not doing this to help the country produce Green electricity it is for their profit, if they wanted they could offer to fit solar panel to houses and warehouses and take the money for electricity generated.
