I have been a happy resident in Essendine for 25 years and even thought I welcome change I feel the Mallard Pass development is vastly oversized for the area. And would have a dramatic impact on wildlife, ie free roaming deer, badgers, birds of prey, etc. it seems strange that they are using good farming land which producing much needed crops. I feel it is very unnecessary to dig up roads when fields and other access routes would be available. I believe the theory behind this is they can’t get over the railway but it seems strange that when the new substation was put in several years ago heavy duty power distribution equipment was installed on both sides of the railway. I would have thought that all proposals and acquisitions etc should have highlighted at early planning or consultations rather than a drip feed of different criteria …what next? The main road closed for long periods of time !!! These thing not only effect the village but the A6121 is a very busy road used by the whole area and beyond.
