I believe that a scheme such as this is essential to our ability to green energy production and mitigate climate change. Whilst I recognise that it might not be ideal to have such a project in one's back yard, they have to be installed somewhere if we are to combat the threats to the environment ahead of us. I am broadly in favour of the scheme but careful attention needs to be taken to reduce environmental impacts during construction and operation. I believe that if the project is implemented with this in mind it could actually enhance the local environment by creating additional habitats, green corridors etc. for local wildlife, as well as provide some additional amenity to the local population through extra footpaths and a riverside walk.
