I am opposed to the proposed Mallard Pass Solar Farm project (ENO10127) to create a solar farm for the following reasons: The solar farm will be created on good quality agricultural land needed for the production of food in the UK. The recent and current situation with regard to shortages of food grown in the UK and the need for food security clearly show that good agricultural land should not be used for solar farms. There are other brownfield sites which would be suitable. All projections related to food production show the need to maximise our potential as a county to grow more of the food we consume If permission for the proposed solar farm is granted it will create a precedent and threaten other areas of good quality agricultural land in neighbouring areas with further solar farm developments. The proposed development of a solar farm at Mallard Pass will blight the village of Essendine and neighbouring villages and settlements damaging the character and appearance and character of the countryside and villages There would long term risks to the health and well being of the people living in the affected communities. Solar farms should be situated away from villages and settlements where risks to health are reduced.
