I wish to register my strong opposition to the proposed Mallard Pass Solar Farm development for the following reasons: 1. The negative impact on the local natural environment and biodiversity in the region which currently supports many birds of prey, deer, hares, bats and other native species. 2. The loss of prime agricultural land when we should be ensuring our food security. 3. The scale of the project and the negative impact this will have on local communities who live and work in this area - not least the tourism which supports local AirBnBs, hotels, pubs, restaurants and other rural attractions who anticipate a loss of earnings should this project go ahead. 4. The investment in such an inefficient form of energy generation when we should be investing in wind and sea where efficiencies are far greater. 5. National Infrastructure projects should be state or UK-owned ensuring our energy security not owned by overseas investors sourcing hardware from the Chinese.
