The proposed development is far too large for its context. The extent of the panels will have a severe detrimental effect on people in Essendine and reduce the amenity of myself and others much more widely. There will also be major visual intrusion from the height of the panels and of the surrounding fence, ruining the experience of walking nearby. The traffic required for the construction phase will be quite unsuited to the rural and residential roads providing access. And if the power cables are routed through the village, this will impose an unreasonable ongoing impact on property owners. Solar power is a great idea, but only in the right place and on a scale appropriate to its context.
