I, as a Rutland resident, am in full support of Mallard Pass solar farm. As a country we are being repeatedly told we need to be more self sufficient when it comes to our energy production, whilst at the same time, the climate emergency requires us to act now on green energy and phasing out use of fossil fuels. This is a perfect opportunity to start that process and looking forward to the future. Our land is heavily overused and soil degradation is a serious issue. This farm will allow the land to recover without the constant use of pesticides. The plant will bring in some jobs, potentially for locals. I look forward to Rutland embracing cleaner, greener energy for our future generations.
