The proposed Mallard Pass development will fundamentally change the character of the rural area in which I live creating substantial detriment to my social and economic welfare, removing valuable land from agricultural production, and adding to detriment already caused by the East Coast Main Line and National Grid super-grid pylons. The consultation process so far has been superficial and improperly conducted using an obvious strategy of offering no benefits to those impacted locally in initial proposals before offering superficial concessions on token access paths and limited concessions on scale. The revised proposals still create fundamental detriment, remain at a scale that fundamentally changes the nature of our rural community, and offer no local benefit at all for those impacted in terms of utility, energy savings or employment.
