I would like to express my concerns over Mallard Park’s solar farm. Although I am well aware of the benefit of renewable energy, I find it unbelievable that anyone would consider using good arable land to be replaced with solar panels. I am worried about the consequence for the future losing the ability to grow locally produced crops on such a massive area. The whole impact on the area, where we are surrounded by the most beautiful countryside, will be heart breaking for all the people being faced with 3-metre-high panels wherever we go. Another big worry is the impact on the wildlife who are roaming the area where the proposed solar panels are going to be erected. I hope you will find some better places to put up solar panels such as old airfields or factory roofs instead of considering destroying our lovely surroundings.
