Some of my concerns are: • The size of the project and inefficiency of the solar panels compared to other sources of green energy. • The vast area this project is going to cover • Destruction of agricultural land which supports food production particularly with the need to become more self-sufficient in this country. • The energy costs of importing, even more, produce and the subsequent environmental impact on green-house gasses. • Impact and destruction of wildlife and wildlife habitats. • As there are unused brown sites e.g. disused airfields, why use green land? • Impact on public footpaths and bridle tracks. • Increased traffic on, what are mainly, farm roads. • Flood risk in an area with flood risks and a history of flooding. • Impact on the mental health and well-being of people in the surrounding villages. • Once this project becomes obsolete, it will be brown land and cannot revert back to valuable agricultural land.
