- Industrial size solar farms should be built on brownfield sites such as old power stations that already have the necessary infrastructure to support electric production. Cottam power station is a good example of an appropriate location for this scale of solar farm. - The sheer size of this solar farm will result in the loss of a very large area of productive agricultural land. - Rutland is a beautiful county, renounced for its green, rolling, countryside and pretty villages. This specific area is beautiful and one I often cycle through. An industrial size solar farm will destroy the beauty of the area, impact tourism, and the have a negative impact on the quality of life of the residents of Rutland. - It will have a negative impact on wildlife and the biodiversity of the area.
