  1. Use of productive agricultural land should be prohibited for development of any kind. Any kind of power generation will be totally unnecessary if we don't have enough food to eat. I appreciate this is a fairly simplistic argument as it stands but as I understand it, this is not the place to discuss government policy or the decision of landowners to do as they wish with their land. Replacing this land with something that has an unquantifiable benefit to power generation (as solar is inherently due to its requirement for sun) seems to be quite the leap on the green agenda. 2. There seems to be huge voids of knowledge by Mallard Pass - what type of solar, how efficient will it be, what are the realistic outputs vs ideal outputs, what is the process of dismantling (if not known how can the carbon cost of that exercise be calculated). 3. There seem to be moving goalposts on the project - size of solar farm, length of construction, additional requirements by them during construction (this last in particular being of detriment to local residents for a considerable period of time). 4. Lack of accountability. Who will hold Mallard Pass to account during and post construction? Properly to account... 5. Greenwashing...the land in question is currently full of diverse wildlife and crops. Their environmental sops would not be required if there were no solar farm.
