I am strongly opposed to the project: it is far too big and will have a detrimental impact on my home (where I was born, grew up and spend a lot of my time) area. The construction phase will be unbearable and the result will be a permanent scar on the local environment. Agricultural land should not be used for this purpose. Instead we should be producing more of our own food, cutting down on the transport costs and pollution. First there should be a policy of installing solar panels on factory rooftops, residential rooftops and brown area sites. For example, they called be installed parallel to the rail tracks. Other sources of renewable energy should be preferred, eg tidal and wind farms. These panels will be imported and funded (?) by China, which increases our dependency and and exports environmental effects. There is no benefit to the local community.
