The Mallard Pass Solar Plant proposal is a strange and totally inappropriate plan. The use of beautiful, agricultural land is abhorrent. One cannot imagine the effect on the local wildlife (who do not have a say) and the ecology. My understanding was that Solar Panel sites should be on brownfield sites and should not be approved on greenfield, let alone prime agricultural land. There are over 1000 deer roaming the immediate area; the proposed site will either require the enforced culling of the herds or will lead to greater danger to road users and damage to other areas of woodland. The proposal would see a blot on the landscape. It is totally inappropriate.
