I have grave concerns about the amount of land which will become unavailable to use for any form of useful food production. The inference has been that landowners are on board with the idea and are keen that their land be used for solar production. Any form of compulsory purchase undermines the intrinsic value of the project. The land will not be taken back into agricultural use unless strict protocols and restrictions are set out during this planning process. There is a case to be settled about the land becoming brownfield land post use as a solar farm and I would wish this to be addressed within this inspection. The scale of land to become unusable when considering West Burton, Cottam 1-3a and Tillbridge Solar is beyond comprehension. This is an assault on our farming values and capabilities.
