I believe the impact of large area's of solar panels on the landscape and countryside would be devastating to both farming, wildlife habitat and the surrounding vista. Agricultural land should be cherished to help us grow food in today's food shortage climate. Overall 10,000 acres of prime agricultural growing land is going to be covered by solar panels and large battery storage units. In my area a large amount of new housing developments are being built, but no solar panels are fitted to these new buildings. I would like to see the government legislate that solar energy be included on new build properties, commercial properties and brownfield sites. We have several solar farm companies taking vast areas of land where I live. The areas of land all be it varies in size from company to company, when taken as a whole should be taken into consideration in the examination process. There has been very little consultation from the solar farm companies to the local residents. No warnings of long term health risks, danger of fire and toxic fumes from battery storage near to residential properties. Water run off from mass areas of solar panels could cause flooding. Glare and low pitched humming from solar farm substations and generators causing health problems. At best the solar panels are 27% efficient due to light, weather and obviously they don't work at night time. These solar panels will destroy our beautiful countryside, diverse wildlife, also lowering the value of local properties and the enjoyment of countryside walks for local residents. I ask all these points be taken into consideration by the Examining Authority. It seems to me, again a few get rich at the cost of many.
