I wish to put forward my objections to the proposed development of the Solar Farm in the location of Gate Burton, Lincolnshire. Although many are not aware of this area, the scenes of natural beauty and historical value are there to be seen. The area is approached by a poor road network causing congestion throughout the year, also maintenance of the roads due to subsidence create their own problems, one which the addition of heavy lorries and equipment in the development of the solar farm would make them totally unstable and unroadworthy. Throughout the years I have lived in this area of Lincolnshire it has been noticeable how the farmland which is not affected by flooding, produces acres of food for the nation. The area is precious to the residents of Gate burton and surrounding villages, I consider that putting a solar farm, together with the other adjoining proposals around Gainsborough, totalling 10,000 plus acres, would be totally devastating to Wildlife, Residents and others travelling through this countryside. The companies putting forward the proposals state the farmland to be used is of a low grade standard, surely, if that is the case, crops could not be grown to support the food industry, not forgetting the animal foodstuff and bedding which it has produced up to now. I have been made aware of these proposals for many months now and, to be honest, I find it has left me mentally and physically exhausted, totally depressed. All I can say, is please do not allow this proposal to go ahead, having used solar panels on my home in the past, they are not as efficient as these developers say, virtually useless in the winter months when extra energy is needed. I would suggest reference is made to the BBC News yesterday, regarding Lithium Batteries on scooters, the danger to people and property caused by the ignition of the battery and difficulties in extinguishing the flames. However, ignition of the solar batteries has been known but with a far larger impact . They are a danger to us all with the toxins they produce seeping into and the possible poisoning of the land and watercourse. What comes next - the demise of the residents and communities?
