This is just 1 of 4 proposals in our area, we would like you to consider all four as a whole rather than independently, as this will make a huge impact on our infrastructure and local area. The Gate Burton project covers 3,500 acres and combined with the other 3 would total to 10,000 acres of valuable farmland being lost, and the whole area will become industrialised. We cannot keep losing valuable farmland, we need to be more sustainable as an independent country and not having to rely on imports. This huge storage of batteries is a massive fire risk. Gate Burton is close to many historic buildings as well as losing our lovely countryside and will have a massive impact on wildlife. Local farm workers will become unemployed, leading to many moving away from relatives and friends to seek employment elsewhere. Many will become homeless that work the land on tenanted farms. This will reflect on mental health of not only the affected farmers but their close relatives. There would be a 4 year construction period combined with the other 3 projects, causing total chaos on our very rural road networks. Many roads affected is only single track. We are not against Solar power and understand a need for renewable energy. We are against huge areas of farmland being taken over instead of using other more suitable areas, i.e industrial building roofs or sites that do not produce food for or nation.
