  1. The Gate Burton proposal is Just 1 of 4 Solar, Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) within a few miles of each other. Together this would be the largest solar farm complex in Europe and would amount to 10,000 acres in total. At present all 4 proposals will be examined independently but I believe this is wrong and an attempt to mask the scale of the project. All four should be assessed as one. 2. This is a huge scheme that will lose vital good quality farmland that is needed to maintain food security options for now and in the future. It will be the industrialisation of extensive areas that are now just rural settlements and have a large impact on the local communitys in terms of employment that depends on the farming industry. 3. The solar panels at 4.5m high mechanised solar panels and intrusive into the landscape and have an impact on bio diversity. 4. The proposal would be highly visible from areas such as the B1398 "Lincoln cliff road." This is designated as an Area of Great Landscape Value (AGLV). 5. I believe this scheme is being promoted purely on the basis of relatively low land values rather than a need for the power generation in this area. It would make more sense to put such big installations (if truly required at this scale) nearer to the points of consumption. 6. I believe that all new buildings should be designed with a south facing roof and have solar panels installed as a planning requirement. This has the added advantage of no new grid connections or upgrades required as the generated electricity would mostly be used within the building.
