We in this area of Cottam are being bombarded with planning applications for solar ‘farms’ which will decimate our farmland and countryside for years to come. This latest application encroaches on wildlife, is a key access road to the river trent for walkers and horse riders. The area is rich in wildlife, birds, woodland and hedgerows which will all be grubbed up for development and will take, as stated by developers, at least 15 years for any replanting to mature. There is a total lack of regard by the developers to rural communities in the area.
