It has been reiterated, many times, that taking agricultural land out of production when there is an alternative, putting solar panels on the roofs of buildings, is folly. The taxpayers money would be better spent on creating more connections to the grid rather than tunnelling long distances. The cable route proposed here is an important access road to the River Trent used for recreation. This is also a proposed development which further encroaches on wildlife, including badger setts. There is little alternative for housing taking land out of production as the population continues to increase but there is a sensible alternative for solar panels. We need to protect our environment. not damage it irreversibly. Do not pass this application.
