This development is one of several being considered. As they are deemed to be National Infrastructure projects, and the affect of them should they all be granted will not be piecemeal, they should all be considered together. The projects will cover a very large area of farmland. They will destroy this land for agricultural purposes forever. They will destroy habitat for such creatures as the Brown Hare, a priority species, and one which has suffered a 41% decrease in numbers in recent years. The use of productive farmland for low density energy production makes no sense whatsoever. The contribution to baseload power demand will be negligible, and the loss of the land for food production is utterly ridiculous and will remain so for generations. The developer has made it clear that they have no commitment to the area and once they have built this environmental disaster they will sell it and move on. There is no going back from this and the land and its associated way of life will be destroyed for ever.
