The proposed solar station is unacceptable for a number of reasons including: • Its visual dominance from widespread and important locations; this is principally a function of its size and location on, inter-alia Aldington Ridge • The consultation has been perfunctory and inadequate; there has been insufficient investigation of alternative, less intrusive locations • The proposed site has been selected principally selected by land ownership patterns. This is deeply inappropriate having regard to the impact of the proposed scheme. Proper planning considerations should be the principal factor in siting such intrusive facilities • There has been inadequate consultation on the proposed location of battery and other enclosures – which will have impact on visual and aural amenity • The proposal will be detrimental to public rights of way – by diversion and detraction of the enjoyment by the panels, CCTV cameras, fencing and storage In its current form, the application should be refused.
