We strongly object to the proposed project. The huge scale of the project and its close proximity to the village of Aldington is unacceptable and will have a negative effect on the lives of the residents of the village. The visual impact on the natural landscape would be devastating. Numerous footpaths and rights of way, many of them historic, will be disrupted, re-routed and subject to high fencing/hedging, completely removing the pleasure and enjoyment of walking through open countryside with beautiful views. Some paths will be permanently extinguished. The area is rich in wildlife which will be adversely affected. It is also disturbing to learn, that in addition to the solar panels, 119 batteries will be sited on the fields surrounding our village. This project will effectively industrialise the area. We chose to live in Aldington because it is surrounded by countryside. Due to the volume of construction/maintenance vehicles the roads in and out of the village will become congested and hazardous, exacerbated by the proposed site access in Station Road, the crossing near to its junction with Calleywell Lane and the use of Goldwell Lane by construction traffic.
