I am writing to offer support for the development. Whilst I do not live within Aldington and will not be directly impacted through proximity on a daily basis I do spend a considerable time in the areas of Mersham and Aldington. I am submitting this message in support of the project as a consequence of seeing the negative messages and boards some residents have erected. Whilst I have great sympathies for anyone who may be directly impacted during the period of construction it is the long term benefits of the develop I believe should take centre stage over short term inconveniences. The South East region is already a densely populated area compared the rest of the UK and it's only going to increase, this should not be under any doubt. We already know there is going to be significant house building across Kent with a major development literally down the road as Otterpool Park. All of these dwellings will need power, all of these additional people means business growth in the area which will also all need power. I cannot think of a better way to provide that power than through clean, renewable means that would go largely unnoticed once constructed and commissioned. Personally I would extremely happy living next door to a solar power plant, the view may not be rolling green fields but it would be immeasurably better than looking at a new housing development or worse a climate damaging power plant. To summarise.. I am supportive of this development, the provision of clean energy exactly where we need it, with minimal long term disruption is precisely what is needed, now and for a sustainable future.
