Here we have another long term scheme project which will have a devastating impact on the countryside and way of life in the village of Aldington. Not only will vast areas of farmland be taken up with solar panels but now we have the added battery packs, water towers, acoustic fencing and various tracks and roadways joining up the solar farm. Another concern would be how secure are the batteries and their locations to reduce the risk of theft and potential fire hazards. How close to residential houses will these be built when in your plan they can not be built near to schools, care homes etc. Why aren’t residential houses considered in the same category? Also another area of concern is the amount of extra traffic that will be using Smeeth crossroads as this is a site of regular accidents and fatalities. I understand the necessity to invest in green energy but why isn’t it compulsory that every new house built isn’t produced green i .e. solar panels and other innovative designs.
