My concerns are the following · That 116 battery containers in the fields surrounding our villages will cause unnecessary industrialisation of the countryside, creating noise pollution, fire risk, contamination risk · The visual impact of solar panels and batteries on the Aldington Ridge will destroy our rural environment · That the scheme will result in the loss of habitat for wildlife and protected species · Centuries old footpaths will be closed or diverted · The scheme will cause traffic chaos in the village and surrounding areas and increase the risk of serious accidents at Smeeth Crossroads - Solar panels should be placed on ALL industrial buildings, warehouses, car parks, office blocks, shopping centres, motorways that already exist - not on prime agricultural land - force ALL house builders to install solar panels on ALL the properties that they build - the use of agricultural land for anything other than agriculture reduces the resources we have to grow our own food locally, therefore increasing the need to import which has a higher environmental impact and pushes prices up, putting more of a financial strain on the consumer
