UKWIN wishes to register as an interested party to this NSIP Examination, as we believe that the Applicant has overstated benefits and understated disbenefits of their proposal, e.g. with respect to climate change impacts and to the need for this new incineration capacity, especially in light of the EfW overcapacity concerns enshrined in EN-1 (2024) and EN-3 (2024). UKWIN is interested to learn about any differences between the scheme that could be brought forward under the existing planning permission and the scheme now being proposed as an NSIP, apart from the proposed increase in electrical output.
